The EDG grant is now merged under EDGE. A custom AI build can still be eligible

Enterprise Singapore stopped the Enterprise Development Grant (EDG) on 29 September 2026. Its new business grant, EDGE, also covers the Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) and Market Readiness Assistance (MRA). A custom build that joins up your systems now applies under EDGE's Large-scale Digital Transformation support. More details: Enterprise Singapore EDG page, large projects page, EDGE FAQ

Merged under EDGE since 30 September 2026

Who qualifies

Your company and project qualify if

  • Your business is registered and operating in Singapore.
  • Singaporeans or PRs own at least 30% of it, directly or through another company.
  • You have not started work, or paid any vendor money or a deposit, before you apply.
  • The project shows a measurable effect on your growth and efficiency.
  • It uses technology such as AI, workflow automation or cloud platforms to make core work stronger.
  • It connects or standardises your systems, for example sales and purchasing.
  • For the 50% SME support level, your group's yearly sales are S$100 million or less, or it has 200 staff or fewer.

Worked example

A custom AI build quoted at S$80,000

This is an example. EDGE supports up to 50% of eligible costs for an SME on a large project. You claim it back after the project.

Project cost, before GSTS$80,000
You pay the vendor firstS$80,000
EDGE support at 50%, claimed backS$40,000
Your cost after the grantS$40,000

50% is the highest support level for a large project. Enterprise Singapore sets your final amount case by case. More details: Enterprise Singapore large projects page, EDGE page, BizSG government grant directory

Eligible costs

What counts, and what does not

  • Eligible costs. Hardware, professional services, salaries and software.
  • One task on its own is not eligible. For example, only turning paper forms into digital ones.
  • Basic IT upgrades, maintenance and GST are not eligible.
  • Your vendor must be independent. It cannot share directors or shareholders with your company.

Other grants for AI

Two more grants support AI builds

  • IMDA AI x Digital Leaders. For companies outside the tech industry, at least 30% locally owned, with some tech staff. IMDA matches you with partner vendors.
  • NTUC Company Training Committee (CTC) Grant. Up to 70% of qualifying costs, consultancy included. Every worker the project affects must get a pay rise, a career plan or a skills allowance.

Plan ahead

Dates to plan around

  • 29 September 2026. Enterprise Singapore stopped taking EDG applications. Applications sent before 30 September are still assessed under the EDG rules.
  • 30 November 2026. If SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC) supported your EDG project, submit the final SFEC claim by this date. Read our SFEC guide.
  • 1 December 2026. EDGE claims open for activities other than digital tools and equipment, such as a large project.
  • Within six months of the project end. An approved EDG project's claim must reach Enterprise Singapore by then.

Documents

What to prepare

  • A project proposal, with the vendor's proposals and quotations.
  • Audited or management-certified financial statements for the last financial year.
  • Projected revenue growth, cost savings and overseas sales for 3 years after the project.
  • Projected new jobs paying above S$5,000 a month for 1 year after, in total and for Singaporeans.
  • At the end: a project report, screenshots of the system working, training records and a final consultancy report.

Where applications go wrong

Common reasons applications fail or claims are cut

  • Signing or paying before you apply. Enterprise Singapore does not support an application for work already started. Read why you apply before you sign.
  • A project that automates one task on its own. It is not eligible for large-project support.
  • Losing eligibility before you claim. If you lose the 30% local ownership, for example, the claim is not supported.
  • No signed audit engagement letter. Enterprise Singapore does not process the claim.
  • Changing vendor after approval. You have to end the application and apply again first.
  • Late invoices. EDGE takes one final claim, and you cannot add costs afterwards.

Questions owners ask

Straight answers on the EDG grant

Is the EDG grant still available?

No. Enterprise Singapore's EDG stopped taking applications on 29 September 2026 and is now merged under EDGE. From 30 September you apply under EDGE.

An EDG application sent before 30 September is still assessed under the EDG rules. Approved projects are supported until the claim is paid. More details: Enterprise Singapore EDG page, Business Grants Portal FAQ, EDGE FAQ

What is the timeline for EDG grant?

For an EDG application already sent, processing takes about 8 to 12 weeks. Claims must reach Enterprise Singapore within six months of the project's end.

Under EDGE's Large-scale Digital Transformation support, each project is assessed case by case, with no fixed processing time. More details: Enterprise Singapore EDG page, BizSG government grant directory

How do I apply for EDG?

EDG is now merged under EDGE, so you apply under EDGE instead. For a custom build, choose Large-scale Digital Transformation. You apply on the Business Grants Portal with your company's own Corppass. More details: Enterprise Singapore large projects page, EDG page

How much does the EDG grant cover?

EDG supported up to 50% of eligible costs for a local SME, and up to 70% for sustainability projects.

Under EDGE, Large-scale Digital Transformation supports up to 50% for an SME and up to 30% for a larger company. More details: Enterprise Singapore EDG page, large projects page

Do I pay the full cost first?

Yes. You pay in full first, then claim the grant back after the project. There is no cash advance, and you make one final claim. More details

Does the S$100,000 EDGE cap apply to a large project?

No. A large project is assessed case by case, and its support does not count towards the S$100,000 yearly EDGE cap. More details

Can I pay the vendor after I apply, but before approval?

Yes, but at your own risk. A payment after you apply can count as an eligible cost if the application is approved, and applying does not guarantee approval. More details

Can a custom AI agent be eligible under EDGE?

It can, when the agent connects your systems, such as sales and purchasing, and changes how core work runs. One agent doing one task on its own is not eligible.

On a call we tell you which grant fits your project before you sign anything. More details
