Glimmer vs Claude Tag

Claude Tag puts one shared Claude in your Slack channels, and your admin sets up what it can reach. Glimmer takes one whole job off your team, in the chat app you already use. Glints sets it up in your own cloud. Glimmer can run on Claude too, so this page compares the two products, not the AI models.

What changes for you

Three differences that matter to an SME

01

How you pay

Paying by use, or paying for one job taken off the team

Claude Tag has no charge for each person in Slack. Work in channels is billed by use, from your company's usage balance. On a Team plan, you load credits before anything runs. Your admin sets a monthly spend limit, and Claude stops when it reaches the limit.

Your company also needs a Claude Team or Enterprise plan. The Team plan starts at US$20 a seat a month, paid yearly, before tax. Anthropic's guide states that it publishes no cost for each task. It suggests a first month with a spend limit to learn the cost.

Glimmer is priced by the job. We pick the job that costs your team the most hours, build it, and count the hours with you after. A grant can pay part of the build.

02

Your chat app and your systems

Your business runs on more than Slack

Claude Tag works in Slack today, and Anthropic has a waitlist for Microsoft Teams. Your team may work in Lark, WhatsApp or Teams instead.

Claude Tag reaches a tool through an account and a key that your admin creates for Claude in that tool. It reaches GitHub through its own app. That suits tools that give out keys, such as an issue tracker or a data warehouse. An old accounting package or a POS built for you may have no key. We build that connection with you, or Glimmer uses the screen the way a person would.

You also choose which actions wait for a person. Glimmer asks the person who made the request, in the same thread, and nothing happens until someone taps Approve.

The people and orders in the chat are an example.

Who sets it up

Set up with you, in your own cloud, on the model you pick

Anthropic's setup guide asks you to treat Claude like a new hire. Your admin gives it an email address, adds it to each tool and pastes in a key for each one. Claude Tag then runs on Claude models, and keeps its records in Anthropic's cloud.

We sit with the person who does the job today and write down how it is really done. Then we build it in your own cloud, put it in your chat app and train your team leads to change it. Each team picks its model, such as Claude, GPT or Gemini, and can switch later.

Fair to say

Where Claude Tag is the better choice

  • A Slack team that wants no projectAn Owner and a Slack admin set it up once, from one setup page. After that, anyone in a channel can tag Claude, with no setup of their own. Your organisation may already have a launch credit to try it with.
  • Software and data teamsClaude Tag can turn a bug reported in a channel into a draft pull request on GitHub. It can answer a data question with a query and a chart.
  • Made by the company that makes ClaudeAnthropic builds both Claude and Claude Tag. Admins set the Claude model for each channel, and can read what Claude saved to its memory.

If Claude Tag already does the job you have in mind, we tell you, and we do not quote a build for it.

Already on Claude Tag?

Using both

Keep Claude Tag in Slack for the teams whose tools give out keys, such as your software and data teams. Add Glimmer for the one job that crosses systems and takes the most hours, in the chat app that team uses.

Glimmer can run on Claude too, on your own account. Your Claude Tag setup in Slack stays as it is.

Questions owners ask

Straight answers, before you book a call

Can I use both?

Yes. Claude Tag gives your Slack channels a shared Claude that your admin sets up. Glimmer takes one shared job off the team, in the chat app you already use. You can keep Claude Tag in Slack and add Glimmer for the job that crosses systems.

Glints is in the Claude Partner Network. Why build Glimmer?

Glints is a member of Anthropic's partner programme. The two people who lead our AI work hold Anthropic's Claude Certified Architect credential. See our credentials.

We built Glimmer to take one whole job off a team, across the systems that job touches, in the company's own cloud. Glimmer can run on Claude. Our partner membership does not lock you in, and you can switch a Glimmer to another model in its settings.

Claude Tag remembers and works on its own. What is different?

Claude Tag keeps notes for each channel, runs tasks on a schedule and follows up by itself. These are good features.

The difference is who does the work of setting up the job. Anthropic gives your admin the tool and a setup page. We build the job with you, in your systems and your cloud, and stay after it goes live.

Does Glimmer work in Slack?

Yes. Glimmer joins your Slack channels, and your staff @mention it there. It also works in Lark, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, WhatsApp and Telegram, and moves with you if you switch.

Can a grant pay part?

Most Glimmer builds qualify for government grants like the EDG. The government pays part, you pay the rest, and we help you apply. Check your grant in 60 seconds.

Where is my data kept?

Glimmer runs in your own cloud account, or on a private server we set up for you. No other company shares it. The only thing that leaves is what the AI model needs to answer, sent on your own account, and every connection is logged.

Anthropic keeps Claude Tag's thread records and memory on its side until you delete them. Anthropic's Claude Tag pages do not state the country.

On the record

Every connection is logged

Glimmer reaches only the systems on your list. Anything else is blocked, and the block is logged too.
