Glimmer vs Microsoft Copilot

Copilot helps each person with their own emails, documents and meetings. Glimmer takes one whole job off your team, across all the systems that job touches. Many companies need the first. This page is about when you also need the second.

What changes for you

Three differences that matter to an SME

01

How you pay

A licence for each person, or one job taken off the team

Copilot is priced by the person. Copilot Business costs US$21 a person a month, paid yearly, on top of your Microsoft 365 plan. For 30 staff that is US$7,560 a year before GST, before any agent work, which Microsoft bills separately by use.

What you get for that is a helper for each person. Whether it saves the company any hours depends on each person using it well.

Glimmer is priced by the job. We pick the job that costs your team the most hours, build it, and count the hours with you after. A grant can pay part of the build.

Example: Finance and ops

The Monday chase for overdue invoices

An example week for a distribution firm with one finance exec. We count your own hours on the first call.

02

Your systems

Your business runs on more than Microsoft

Copilot knows your Microsoft 365 mail, files and meetings well. Most Singapore SMEs also run on WhatsApp, Xero, a POS, Lark or a stock system someone set up years ago.

Copilot can reach those through connectors, and someone has to build and look after them. With Glimmer, we do that for you, including for software with no connection at all, where Glimmer uses the screen the way a person would.

The people and orders in the chat are an example.

03

Who sets it up

Someone sits with your team and stays after

Microsoft makes one product for every company, and the setup is up to you or a partner. Copilot keeps adding features every month, and each one is something more for your staff to learn.

We sit with the person who does the job today and write down how it is really done. Then we build it, put it to work in your chat app, and train your team leads to change it themselves. We keep running the servers underneath.

Fair to say

Where Copilot is the better choice

  • Writing and checking inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookDrafting a proposal, cleaning a spreadsheet, replying to an email. Copilot does this where your staff already work, and Glimmer does not replace it.
  • Your Teams meetingsRecaps, action items and catching up on a meeting you missed.
  • Starting this weekAn admin switches it on, and Microsoft offers a one-month free trial. There is no project.

If Copilot already does the job you have in mind, we tell you, and we do not quote a build for it.

Already on Copilot?

Using both

Keep Copilot for each person's own documents, emails and meetings. Add Glimmer to your Teams for the one job that crosses systems and takes the most hours.

Glimmer joins your Teams channels like a new teammate. Your staff @mention it the way they would a colleague, and your Copilot licences stay as they are.

Questions owners ask

Straight answers, before you book a call

Can I use both?

Yes. Copilot helps each person with their own work in Microsoft 365. Glimmer takes one shared job off the team, in the chat app you already use. You can keep Copilot for everyone and add Glimmer for the job that crosses systems.

We already pay for Copilot. Why add Glimmer?

Ask how many of your staff opened Copilot last week, and which job it took off the team. If the answer is a job, keep going with Copilot.

If the answer is "it helps a bit with emails", bring us the job that still takes the most hours. We show you in a 20-minute call how Glimmer would do it.

Copilot has agents now. What is different?

Copilot can now run long tasks for you, and Microsoft is testing an always-on agent called Autopilot. They are good tools, and they get better every month.

The difference is who does the work of setting up the job. Microsoft sells the tool to every company. We build the job with you, in your systems, and stay after it goes live.

Does Glimmer work in Microsoft Teams?

Yes. Glimmer joins your Teams channels, and your staff @mention it there. It also works in Lark, Slack, Google Chat, WhatsApp and Telegram, and moves with you if you switch.

Can a grant pay part?

Most Glimmer builds qualify for government grants like the EDG. The government pays part, you pay the rest, and we help you apply. Check your grant in 60 seconds.

Where is my data kept?

Glimmer runs in your own cloud account, or on a private server we set up for you. No other company shares it. The only thing that leaves is what the AI model needs to answer, sent on your own account, and every connection is logged.

On the record

Every connection is logged

Glimmer reaches only the systems on your list. Anything else is blocked, and the block is logged too.
