AI Transformation Lab
Singapore Government Grants

Your first AI project is the kind Singapore wants to fund.

A first AI project takes about 3 months and costs under S$20,000 — and that's before the grant. Your out-of-pocket is less. One rule matters most: apply before you sign anything.

60-second check

Can your company get a grant? Three questions.

Registered and operating in Singapore
At least 30% owned by Singaporeans or PRs
Nothing signed or paid for the project yet

All three true? You can most likely get a grant. Missed one? Talk to us anyway — the workforce grant (WDG) has no ownership rule.

Don't sign anything yet. Not even with us.

Grants must be approved before you sign a contract or pay a deposit. Sign first, and the grant is gone — this is the most common way Singapore SMEs lose their funding.

So have the grant conversation before you commit to any vendor — including us.

The three routes

Which grant fits which project?

You don't have to pick — that's our job on the call. This part is for you (or your finance person) to skim.

Start here — first project

GenAI x Digital Leaders

IMDA (Infocomm Media Development Authority)
≤S$20k
first-project size the quick-win track funds
Government share decided case by case
Your first focused AI build — for example, an assistant that answers questions from your company's documents, or automates a paperwork-heavy process. Done in about 3 months with an IMDA-approved tech vendor. Bigger tracks exist for projects up to S$100k and beyond.
  • Registered and operating in Singapore
  • At least 30% owned by Singaporeans or PRs
  • Your business isn't an IT company, and you have some tech-comfortable staff
  • A common use case — document Q&A, customer service, ops automation
You pay only your share. The vendor bills you your portion; IMDA pays the vendor the rest directly. How much the government covers is decided project by project.
When you scale up

Enterprise Development Grant (EDG)

EnterpriseSG
50%
of project cost, paid back to you
No fixed cap — project-based
Bigger, custom builds that give your business a new capability — automation, process redesign, systems you can't buy off the shelf.
  • Registered and operating in Singapore
  • At least 30% owned by Singaporeans or PRs
  • Nothing signed or paid for the project yet
  • Financially healthy enough to finish the project
Pay first, claim back. You pay the full cost, then claim 50% back after the project is done and audited. Approval takes about 8–12 weeks.
The workforce angle

Workforce Development Grant (WDG JR+)

Workforce Singapore (WSG)
70%
of project cost covered
Up to S$150,000 total
Projects that change how your people work — job redesign, workforce planning tools, AI-powered HR tech. Led by a WSG-approved consultant.
  • Registered and operating in Singapore
  • At least 3 local employees — no ownership rule
  • Nothing signed or paid for the project yet
  • Uses a WSG-approved consultant
You pay only ~30%. Your share goes to the consultant; the government pays the consultant its share directly. You never front the full cost.
